Talking about your bladder health can seem a bit awkward, but as we get older, bladder symptoms like leakage and frequent trips to the bathroom become a lot more common. If your bladder is affecting your day-to-day life, even just a little bit, talking with your primary care provider can help. Your primary care provider can offer private, trustworthy support to help you find a variety of simple, non-invasive solutions tailored to your needs, so you can feel more confident and in control.

Common bladder problems and signs:

Some people face frequent urinary tract infections, urinary leaks (urinary incontinence) and trouble fully emptying the bladder (urinary retention). Early attention to your bladder health can help prevent symptoms from worsening over time and help you live more comfortably.

Some signs of bladder problems may include:

  • Inability to hold urine or leaking urine
  • Needing to urinate more frequently or urgently
  • Cloudy urine
  • Blood in the urine
  • Pain or burning before, during or after urinating
  • Trouble starting or having a weak stream while urinating
  • Trouble emptying the bladder
